Dubai (UAE): Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the iconic Burj Khalifa was lit up in the colors of the Indian national flag. As part of a light-and-sound show at the Burj on Friday, setting the stage for PM Modi’s arrival in the Gulf country on an official tour, the skyscraper also displayed his photo, followed by a text that read, “Welcome Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
A soaring skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Burj Khalifa is one of the city’s top attractions. PM Modi began the last leg of his two-nation tour when he arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday for an official visit.
On arrival, the Prime Minister was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the airport, following which he met Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome in the Gulf country, PM Modi posted on Twitter, “Grateful to Crown Prince HH Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for receiving me at the airport today.”
During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates on important bilateral issues. Hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said that its economic partnership with India “marks an important milestone in the history of both countries”.
UAE-India non-oil trade is expected to reach US$100 billion per year by 2030, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, said in an interview. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi stated that the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, CEPA, was designed to deliver a new era of growth and opportunity.
CEPA is an agreement between India and the United Arab Emirates signed on February 18, 2022, and came into force on May 1, 2022. The agreement was signed between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Prime Minister left for the UAE on Saturday after concluding his two-day visit to France.
PM Modi described his visit to France as “memorable”, adding that it was more remarkable as he participated in the Bastille Day celebrations. He also thanked French President Emmanuel Macron and the people of France for the warmth and hospitality.
During his two-day visit to France, PM Modi on Friday attended the Bastille Day celebrations as the guest of honour. He visited France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
