Sunny Deol’s action avatar in the new ‘Gadar 2’ poster

Mumbai: The makers of upcoming period action film ‘Gadar 2’ thrilled the audience by releasing an intense poster featuring Sunny Deol on social media. On Thursday, on its Instagram handle, Zee Studios shared a new glimpse of Sunny’s character in the film. In the poster, Sunny can be seen in an intense avatar holding a giant wheel in place of a hand pump.

The post caption reads, “When it comes to family and country, no enemy can stand before Tara Singh! #Gadar2 is coming to the big screen, this Independence Day! In cinemas from 11th August.”

As soon as the poster was unveiled, fans of the actor flooded the comments section with heart and fire emojis. Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma, stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles.

Bringing back the magic and nostalgia of Tara and Sakina’s love story, the makers recreate the iconic chartbuster, ‘Ud Ja Kale Kava’.

Within no time the song started trending on various social media platforms and received tremendous love and appreciation from the fans. The song has been choreographed by the very skilful Shabina Khan.

Talking about her experience choreographing Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, Shabina Khan said in a statement, “It has always been wonderful working with Sunny sir. I am really a fan girl and when a fan gets a chance to work with her superstar, she is on cloud nine. I worked with Sunny sir when I was an assistant and he was doing his other films and since I have worked with him earlier, I understand what he likes and dislikes.

He said, “I had previously worked with Ameesha as an assistant choreographer, so we bonded well and when actors and directors trust you, your job becomes 50% easier. It was amazing working with both of them, I had only one thing on my mind while shooting for ‘Ud Ja Kale Kava’, it’s such a cult film and a cult song and I can’t do anything wrong with it. That’s why I was prepared for each and every shot and when your hard work pays off and when people say things like they have gone back in time after watching the song, then I feel that I have made my mark as a choreographer. I have achieved something that also takes the story. Forward with the director.”

‘Ud Ja Kale’ has received over 50 million views across various social media platforms. Recently, music maestro Udit Narayan, Mithun and film director Anil Sharma came together to celebrate the success of the reprized version of the song ‘Ud Ja Kale Kava’.

The original song was sung by music emperor Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, the new version of the song has been recreated and rearranged by Mithoon. Ud Ja Kale Kava was initially composed by Uttam Singh and the lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi.

The teaser of ‘Gadar 2’ hints that the story begins from where the story ended in ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ and fans can also get to hear a sad version of the song ‘Ghar Aaja Pardesi’. The film’s portrayal of the Partition of India and its impact on the lives of the people impressed the audience.

Tara and Sakina’s epic tale of patriotism, love and sacrifice broke several records in 2001. Now, the makers are all set to treat the audience with the second installment of the film. ‘Gadar 2’ will have a bigger Bollywood clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’.
