Renowned filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is gearing up for his ambitious project, a retelling of the epic Hindu mythology, Ramayana. The director will start work on this project after Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s film Bawal. However, recently Om Raut’s Adipurush got into some major controversies regarding the dialogues and characters of the film. Now, addressing concerns about potential offence, Tiwari has assured the audience that his adaptation will respect diverse sensibilities while maintaining its authenticity. With the ongoing controversy surrounding Adipurush, Tiwari’s confidence in crafting a non-aggressive narrative has attracted attention and intrigue.

The most recent adaptation of Ramayana, Adipurush received a great response from the audience. Keeping the present scenario in mind, Nitesh Tiwari was asked about his plans for the adaptation of Ramayana. Talking to Zoom Entertainment he shared, “My question is very simple. I am also a consumer of the content I create and if I don’t hurt myself, I am sure I won’t hurt anyone else. We are curious as to who will play the role of Lord Ram and Sita. When asked about the cast, the director replied, “Very soon.” Speculations are rife that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be seen in the roles of Ram and Sita.
adipurush reaction
Released on 16 June, Adipurush faced critical response, mainly targeting its dialogues, VFX, costumes and set design. The film faced boycott calls, forcing the makers to go back on some of the dialogues from the mythological epic. Directed by Om Raut, the film stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan among others.
Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari is looking forward to the release of Baawal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is expected to release this month.
