Defending champions Lyca Kovai Kings (LKK) will square off against Nellai Royals Kings (NRK) in the final of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 at the Indian Cements Cricket Ground in Tirunelveli on Wednesday. The M. Shah Rukh Khan-led LKK played like champions, topping the points table in the league stage and sealing their place in the final after beating Dindigul Dragons by 30 runs in Qualifier 1.
Gujarat Titans batsman Sai Sudarshan was the star performer for LKK before being called up from the South Zone side in the Duleep Trophy. “We have picked a player because we liked what we saw and we did not interfere with his mindset. We have given them specific roles and allowed them to grow in it,” Sportstar quoted Shah Rukh Khan as saying ahead of the final.
NRK, on the other hand, took the long route to reach the finals, winning two thrilling playoff matches in Eliminator and Qualifier 2. In the Eliminator, NRK won by 4 runs, while in Qualifier 2 against the Dragons, 37 runs were required to win. He scored 33 runs in the last two overs.

“Both batsmen and bowlers get better as they play more matches, and your skill level improves as well. So I think we are well prepared for the final,” said NRK captain KB Arun Karthik.
