As Team India gears up for their upcoming Test series against West Indies, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli took to social media to express his appreciation for coach Rahul Dravid. In an emotional post, Kohli shared a picture of himself with Dravid and recalled their time on the field in 2011.
Recovering from the defeat in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, the Indian team has reached Dominica for the two-match Test series. After a month-long break, the players regrouped in Barbados to begin their preparations for the West Indies tour, which comprises a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series.
With the Asia Cup later this year and the ICC ODI World Cup also round the corner, the Indian team is gearing up for a busy schedule. However, players are excited to move on to the next WTC cycle from 2023 to 2025.
In Kohli’s post, he reflected on the journey back to 2011 when he and Dravid shared the ground together at the same venue where the upcoming Test series would begin. The skipper highlighted the fact that he has since captained the team, while Dravid has taken up the role of head coach. Kohli expressed his gratitude for coming full circle in life and acknowledged Dravid’s significant impact on his career and the team.
