The much awaited romantic drama Rocky Aur Rani’s love story directed by Karan Johar is soon gearing up for a grand theatrical release. The project, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, is now garnering attention with its highly promising first teaser and the recently released romantic melody ‘Tum Kya Miley’. Meanwhile, director KJo and his team have already started the social media promotion of the film, releasing exclusive pictures along with interesting trivia.

Karan Johar drops first picture of Alia and Ranveer from look test

Recently, the filmmaker who is all set to return to the big screen with the love story of Rocky and Rani is excited to watch his ambitious film across the globe. He has recently surprised the fans with a special update. Karan Johar released the first picture of lead pair Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt from the first look test of the film with an adorable caption.

“Our first look test of the film! While we were locking the looks for Rocky and Rani,” wrote KJo who also captioned the post featuring designer Manish Malhotra, stylist Eka Lakhani and their lead pair. In the picture, Alia looks drop dead gorgeous in a beige and red chiffon saree, paired with a sleeveless blouse. She completed her look with jumbo earrings, matching bangles and kohled eyes. Ranveer, on the other hand, looks dapper in a printed red shirt.

About Rocky and Rani’s love story

As mentioned earlier, Rocky and Rani’s love story marks the return of Karan Johar to filmmaking after a long gap of 7 years. His previous directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil hit the theaters in 2016 and was an average grosser. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the role of Rocky, while Alia Bhatt plays the role of Rani. As per reports, the romantic drama revolves around the larger-than-life love story of Rocky and Rani, who hail from Punjabi and Bengali cultures respectively.

The love story of Rocky and Rani stars veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in lead roles. Tota Roy Chowdhury, Ronit Roy, Saswata Chatterjee, Karmaveer Chowdhury, Kshiti Jog and many other prominent actors of Hind and Bengali cinema, and Indian television appear in supporting roles. Pritam has composed the songs and original score for the project. The romantic drama is jointly produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.
