Prabhas’ Adipurush attacked by man for allegedly sitting on Lord Hanuman’s seat in theater

New Delhi: A video claiming to show a man allegedly being thrashed for sitting on a seat dedicated to Lord Hanuman at a theater in Hyderabad during an Adipurush screening has surfaced on the internet. The incident reportedly took place in Hyderabad, where the man was attacked and abused while taking a ‘Hanuman seat’ in the theatre. These incidents seem to have happened during one of Adipurush’s first shows.

Hanuman seat in theaters running ‘Adipurush’

A seat decorated with flowers and a picture of Lord Hanuman, another picture of the Lord draped in saffron and a garland with the words ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Hindi. Similarly, many theaters across the country thronged to watch ‘Adipurush’, the retelling of Ramayana. Some were seen praying, others pausing for a moment and of course, they were clicking the obligatory selfie of the unusual scene before sitting down to watch the film. Agarbatti and coconut were also seen in some cinema hall videos.

Significantly, this is not the first incident of a mob thrashing a person in connection with ‘Adirpurush’. Earlier in the day, another person was thrashed by a mob after he gave a negative review to the film directed by Om Raut. A video of the incident had surfaced on the internet and left the onlookers shocked.
