MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena on Tuesday ran a full-page advertisement in several newspapers titled ‘Modi for India, Shinde for Maharashtra’, citing a survey that showed the BJP leading the way for the top post. Shinde is being given more preference than K Devendra. Fadnavis. The advertisement prompted Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut to call the party ‘Modi-Shah’s Shiv Sena’.
The ad has the army’s bow and arrow symbol and pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shinde. There is no image or picture of Shiv Sena founder the late Balasaheb Thackeray, a noticeable departure from its earlier promotional material. The ad said, “26.1 per cent people in Maharashtra want Eknath Shinde and 23.2 per cent Devendra Fadnavis as the next chief minister for the post of chief minister.”
Thus, it is undeniable proof that 49.3 per cent people in Maharashtra want to see a strong alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena for the leadership of their state. Figures and claims in the advertisement are attributed to Zee TV-Matrix survey. “According to election surveys, 30.2 percent of Maharashtra’s citizens prefer the Bharatiya Janata Party, while 16.2 percent of citizens prefer the Shiv Sena (led by Eknath Shinde). These numbers show that a total of 46.4 percent of Maharashtra’s people trust There is an alliance between the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena for the development of the state.”
Reacting to the ad, Sanjay Raut of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) said, “It was Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena earlier, but the ad has cleared the air. It has now become Modi-Shah’s Shiv Sena. Image Where from.” Or the picture of late Balasaheb Thackeray in the advertisement?”
State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, however, tried to downplay the advertisement. “It is always the election result that decides which party or leader is more acceptable to the voters. Shinde was earlier popular as a cabinet minister and now his acceptability as chief minister has increased. The people of the state Has high hopes from Fadnavis.” Shinde and Modi. As a state-level leader, the people of Maharashtra have given preference to Fadnavis twice, he said. Bawankule said, there is no comparison between Shiv Sena and BJP as to who is a big or a small party.
Congress’ Maharashtra unit chief spokesperson Atul Londhe termed it a “false” survey that he said Shinde has used to promote himself. “After the elections are over, the Maha Vikas Aghadi will win more than 42 Lok Sabha seats (in Maharashtra) and more than 200 assembly seats. Shinde was there,” he said.
Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats and 288 assembly constituencies. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies – Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress and NCP – have claimed that they will fight the elections with maximum coordination. Bharat Gogawale, chief whip of the Shinde-led Sena, said, “We never manage to get anyone a favorable survey. He (Shinde) is also accessible to the people and visits all parts of the state. We have not asked any media house to conduct.” a survey for us. ,
